Alya is an architectural designer, exhibition designer, and ceramicist based in Brooklyn, NY.  
Alya is a first-generation Syrian and Lebanese American born and raised in the rural landscape of South Dakota with ties to the Oglala Lakota Tribe. Growing up between the midwest quiet and middle-east vibrancy shaped Alya’s belief that architecture, heritage, and the arts to spark connection and inspire. Alya has has overseen the successful design and installation of exhibitions and pop-ups for heritage brands including MillerKnoll, the Eames Institute, and Designtex. She is currently an exhibition designer for the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in NYC.

studio alya came to life from a desire to be inspired and get creative outside of the daily desk job grind. What started with a bit of play has turned into creating functional ceramics and assisting with other design and artistic endeveaors.  She is available for ceramic commissions, freelance exhibition work, 3D modeling assistance for independent artists, and the occasional graphic project.
